Clifty Creek Golf Course first opened for play in 1990. The course was designed by David Thayer.

Clifty Creek Golf Course was built on scenic rolling terrain and is very scenic. Water hazards come into play on five of the nine holes. Many trees have been planted. The tee boxes and undulating greens are elevated. A couple of sand bunkers come into play on the opening two holes. #4, a par 5, requiring an approach shot over water to a sloping green is the signature hole.
